Rediscovering Cliff House: a wonderful first event
Cliff House Friends’ first event brought the community together for a sunny afternoon of music, entertainment and conversation at one of Salcombe’s best-loved buildings.
Cliff House Friends celebrated a wonderfully encouraging start on 12 July, as Rediscovering Cliff House brought local people and visitors together for a relaxed afternoon at Cliff House.
With sunshine over the estuary, guests made the most of the rooms and waterfront terrace while enjoying live music, children’s entertainment, Wimbledon on the big screen, refreshments and drinks. It was a lively, welcoming occasion, with plenty of time to meet friends old and new.
The afternoon was created to help people rediscover Cliff House, its place in Salcombe’s heritage and the role it can continue to play at the heart of community life. The warmth and enthusiasm around the building made this first Friends event feel like a very promising beginning.
The event also marked the launch of the Cliff House Trust 200 Club, a monthly draw that gives supporters a simple way to help care for Cliff House while sharing in the prize fund.
Cliff House Friends would like to thank everyone who came along, performed, volunteered and helped make the day possible. It was a fitting first chapter, and we look forward to welcoming the community back to Cliff House again.
