Why should you join?

Help Cliff House stay part of Salcombe life

For more than a century, Cliff House has been part of community life in Salcombe, providing a welcoming space for local activities, events, and gatherings.
Today, this much-loved historic building needs continuing care, including major repair and restoration work. Those works will help preserve the building so future generations can continue to use and enjoy it.
Income from hire and rentals helps meet day-to-day costs, but Cliff House Trust Limited, registered charity 1146359, also needs support for larger improvement projects.
Cliff House Trust 200 Club has been created to help. By becoming a member, you play a direct part in safeguarding the future of Cliff House while taking part in a transparent monthly prize draw.
Cliff House Friends was formed in early 2026 to support this work. Residents, visitors and supporters work alongside the charity’s trustees to help keep Cliff House a vibrant part of Salcombe life.
The aim is simple: to help Cliff House remain well cared for and useful to Salcombe for the next 200 years.

Thank you for supporting Cliff House.

How it works

Simple to join, carefully checked

1. Apply online
Scan the QR code on printed material and complete the online application form, or apply online at https://www.cliffhousesalcombe.com/200-club/apply/.

2. Set up payment
Once you receive your acknowledgement email, set up a standing order for £5.00 per month per ticket, payable to Cliff House Trust Limited. Full payment details will be included in the acknowledgement email.

3. Receive your tickets
Each £5.00 monthly subscription gives you one ticket, which will be allocated automatically after payment has been received and reconciled.

4. Choose your options
You may purchase more than one ticket. Details of the available options are shown on the application form. Membership is open to anyone aged 16 or over.

Monthly draw

The draw takes place at 9.00am on the first day of each month and can be watched live online at https://www.cliffhousesalcombe.com/200-club/draw-room/.
To enter that month’s draw, your subscription must be received by the 25th day of the previous month.
Winners will be notified by email.
Cliff House Trust Limited will then arrange payment of any prize won.

Membership is open to anyone aged 16 or over.

Please take part only for fun and within your means. Tickets are entered into a draw only when the relevant monthly payment has been received and reconciled before the published cut-off.

Results and transparency

Public results show tickets only

After each draw, the public record shows winning tickets, draw totals, and safe evidence. Names, contact details, payment references, bank information, and private exports stay restricted.

Rules, registration, and responsible play

Rules, registration and safeguards

The 200 Club publishes the formal rules, registration details, responsible-play wording, sales limits, draw controls, and evidence approach so supporters can see how the draw is run.

Draw safeguards

How the draw can be checked

The 200 Club records each application, ticket allocation, payment reconciliation, draw lock, confirmation, result, and return in an append-only record chain.

Lottery sales limits
Small society lottery limits are £20,000 of ticket sales in a single draw and £250,000 aggregate ticket sales in a year. At £5.00 per ticket, that means no more than 4,000 tickets in one draw and 50,000 ticket-payments in a year.
Prize cap
No single prize, donated prize, or rollover prize may be worth more than £25,000. The 200 Club does not use rollovers for this launch, and the draw code refuses to save a prize above this cap.
Capacity safeguard
If the 200 Club reaches capacity, new applications are held as waiting-list interest. Payment instructions are sent only when a place becomes available.
Tickets
After payment is reconciled, WordPress assigns tickets at random from the unused Salcombe-prefix pool: SE, CH, WD, SS, NS, FC, SC, and MB, each with 000 to 999. That gives 8,000 possible tickets. Operators cannot choose tickets. Every allocation is written to the record log, and tickets are never silently reused.
Ticket record
Tickets are issued by email after payment reconciliation. The ticket email includes the society, ticket price, responsible organiser name and address, draw timing, registration, payment reference, and tickets, and can be saved or printed as the player ticket record.
Age limit
16+
Responsible play
The 200 Club is a lottery and a form of gambling. Players must be 16 or over. Please only join at a level that feels comfortable; responsible gambling support is available from GambleAware.
Player information
Before joining, players can see how proceeds are used, how prizes are split, and that the chance of winning depends on the number of paid eligible tickets in that draw.
Sales channel
Applications are taken online through the Cliff House website, with payment by standing order after application. Street sales are not allowed. Offline sales, door-to-door sales, or participation from outside Great Britain need trustee/legal approval before use.
External lottery manager
No External Lottery Manager is appointed for this launch. If that changes, trustees must record the ELM details and licensing position before operation.
Payment rule
Payment must be received and reconciled before entry. Payments after the 25th roll into the following monthly draw.
Payment details
Payment instructions are sent only after a completed application has been received and stored with its unique payment reference.
Payment safety
If any later message asks you to use different bank details, please check with the payment enquiries contact before paying.
Commerce boundary
200 Club payments are reconciled manually against the unique 200 Club payment reference inside this plugin. WooCommerce orders, subscriptions, carts, coupons, gateways, and stock counts are not a source of draw eligibility.

Prize split
Each month, 50% of received subscriptions is prize money: 1st prize 25%, 2nd prize 15%, and 3rd prize 10% of that month's subscription income.
Records retention
Lottery returns, draw packs, ticket registers, and regulatory evidence are normally kept for three years from the draw. Payment reconciliation, prize payments, and other accounting records are kept for six years after the relevant financial year. Unpaid or cancelled applications are normally removed after 12 months unless a complaint, legal hold, or regulatory enquiry requires longer.
Annual proceeds
After each calendar year, the proportion of lottery proceeds returned to Cliff House Trust purposes will be published on the 200 Club page or in the annual report.
