Cliff House Trust 200 Club Terms & Conditions
Purpose
The Cliff House Trust 200 Club raises funds for Cliff House Trust Limited (registered charity number: 1146359), supporting the provision and maintenance of Cliff House for the inhabitants of, and visitors to, Salcombe, Devon.
Terms & Conditions
- Membership costs £5 per month and provides one ticket for each monthly draw in which the relevant subscription has been received and reconciled.
- Members may purchase multiple tickets.
- A draw will be held on the first day of each month.
- Prize money will equal 50% of the subscriptions received for that draw.
- Prize money will be allocated as follows:
1st Prize 25%
2nd Prize 15%
3rd Prize 10% - Membership is open to persons aged 16 or over.
- Payments may be made by standing order or, where offered by the Club, by monthly Bacs Direct Debit through Stripe. Direct Debit is optional; an existing standing order is not automatically transferred or cancelled.
- Subscription payments must be received by the 25th day of the month preceding the draw. Late payments will not be entered into that month's draw and will roll into the following monthly draw once reconciled.
- Draws will be conducted electronically by the Promoter or their nominee.
- Winners will be notified using the contact details supplied on their application form.
- Prize payments will be made to the person registered as the holder of the winning ticket.
- If a winner cannot be contacted within six months, the prize will be treated as a donation to Cliff House Trust 200 Club and applied for the charitable purposes described above.
- Cliff House Trust 200 Club will be promoted by Cliff House Friends in support of Cliff House Trust Limited.
- In the event of any dispute, the decision of Cliff House Trust Limited shall be final.
- Cliff House Trust Limited and Cliff House Friends reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions where necessary. The current version of these Terms and Conditions will be available on the Cliff House website.
- Members may cancel future participation at any time. Standing-order payers should cancel their instruction with their bank. Direct Debit payers may cancel through their bank or building society, or ask the Club to stop future collections. Please also notify [email protected] so the Club can update its records. A payment already being processed may still complete.
- Except where a refund is due under the Direct Debit Guarantee or applicable law, subscriptions already received are not refundable. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
- Any decision to close Cliff House Trust 200 Club will be notified to members at least one month in advance. Members should cancel their standing orders; the Club will arrange for future Direct Debit collections to stop. Any remaining funds, after payments of outstanding prizes and expenses, will be transferred to Cliff House Trust Limited for its charitable purposes.
Paying by Direct Debit
- The payer must authorise a Direct Debit mandate in Stripe Checkout. The agreed monthly amount is £5 for each ticket requested, as shown during setup. Collections repeat monthly until cancelled. The payment confirmation and advance notice identify the amount and collection date; payments are not necessarily collected on the draw date.
- The first payment can take up to seven working days to clear after setup; later payments normally take four working days. Completing a mandate or seeing an active subscription does not itself secure entry. Payment must clear successfully by the 25th of the month preceding the draw and be checked and reconciled by the Club. A payment clearing after that cut-off goes towards a later eligible draw. Ticket confirmation is sent by email after the check.
- The payer will receive advance notice of collections and any change to the amount, date or frequency, in accordance with the notice period agreed in the mandate. Contact the Club before changing ticket numbers or payment method. Do not set up a second payment arrangement for the same tickets; agree when the old arrangement will stop and the replacement will start.
- Pending or failed payments do not count as paid entry. If a payment is returned, refunded or disputed, the Club will review the affected payment and draw eligibility and contact the payer where necessary.
- Direct Debit Guarantee rights apply to these collections. If the Club or your bank or building society makes a collection error, you can claim a full and immediate refund from your bank or building society. A refund received in error must be repaid. You may cancel your Direct Debit through your bank or building society at any time; please tell the Club too. Read the full Direct Debit Guarantee.
Privacy
- For Direct Debit, Stripe processes the payer’s bank details, mandate and collections on behalf of the Club. Bank details are entered in Stripe Checkout, not stored in the Club website. The Club retains payment references, arrangement status and transaction records needed to administer membership and reconcile payments.
- Cliff House Trust 200 Club collects and uses members' names, email addresses, telephone numbers, and membership records solely for administering Cliff House Trust 200 Club, conducting draws, contacting winners, and maintaining appropriate records.
- Personal information will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and will not be shared with third parties except where required by law or where necessary for the administration of Cliff House Trust 200 Club.
- Members may separately choose whether they wish to receive information about fundraising activities, events, and other news relating to Cliff House. Participation in Cliff House Trust 200 Club is not conditional upon receiving such communications.
- Personal information will be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for administration, legal, accounting, and audit purposes.
